Phi Alpha Theta
I was inducted into Phi Alpha Theta, the national history honor society, on April 16, 2025. McDaniel College news
Independent study
In summer 2026 I designed an independent study on Asian American immigration history with Professor Qin Fang, chair of the history department. I picked the readings and wrote a research paper at the end.
On campus
Study abroad panel
In May 2026 I was one of the student panelists at McDaniel’s Academic Symposium, in a session called Study Abroad: A World of Learning. I talked about my year at the Budapest campus and answered questions from students thinking about going.
International Perspectives Club
I was president of the club in 2025-26. We worked with other student groups to put on events through the year. In October we did a night on music as a way of telling stories with the Hispano-Latinx Alliance. In February we looked at Black history around the world with the campus NAACP chapter.
In December we ran a table on winter traditions from different countries as part of the college’s Out of the Darkness celebration. Students made ornaments and talked about what the season looks like where their families come from.
Urinetown
In my first year I was in the ensemble of McDaniel’s fall 2023 production of Urinetown, The Musical. It was a one-off, but getting up in front of an audience was good practice for getting up in front of a class.
